RowGuide

Privacy policy

Effective 13 October 2026

This policy covers the RowGuide website and its waitlist. The app is in development and not released; when it is, it will get its own policy. The short version: the site keeps your email and your optional answers so the developer can tell you when the app is out, and counts visits so the developer can see which posts bring people here. Nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

1. Who is responsible

An independent developer living in Canada (the "operator"). Contact: [email protected]. Name and mailing address are given on request.

2. What is collected

InformationWhenWhy
Your email addressWhen you join the waitlistTo email you when the app is released, and at most once or twice before that to ask what you need
Your answers to "What would you pay?", "How much land do you work?" and "What do you use now?", and the app you name if you choose "a phone app"If you tap an answer or type an app name (all are optional)To decide the price, who the app is for and what it has to do better. Stored with your email if you join, otherwise only as a count. The app name is only stored if you join
Where you came from (the link you used, for example "tiktok", or the referring site), a random per-visit id, and which steps you took on the page (viewed, answered, joined)Every visitTo count how many people each post or link brings, and how many of them join. The per-visit id is kept in your browser's session storage and is gone when you close the tab
Your country, as guessed by Cloudflare from your IP address, and your browser type (user agent)Every visit, and when you joinTo check that visitors are mostly in the US and Canada, and to spot bots. The IP address itself is not stored by the site

There are no advertising trackers, no analytics scripts from other companies, and no cookies set by the site. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when it serves the font file (Google's note on this).

3. Where it is stored

On Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., United States), which hosts the site and its database. Cloudflare processes the data on the operator's behalf under its privacy policy. Launch emails are sent from an ordinary email account. Your data may therefore be stored and processed in the United States and in Canada.

4. Who sees it

Only the operator, and the hosting and email providers above as needed to run the service. Your email is never sold, rented or given to anyone for their own marketing. If the operator ever handed the waitlist to a successor who takes over the project, you would be told first and could ask to be removed.

5. How long

Your email and answers are kept until the app has been released and the launch email sent, or until you ask for removal, or for two years from the date you joined, whichever comes first. If the project is cancelled, the waitlist is deleted. Visit counts are kept without any email attached.

6. Your choices

Canadian law (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, US state privacy law give you these rights. Children under 18 should not join the waitlist, and any such email is deleted on notice.

7. Changes

If the way data is handled changes, this page changes and the date at the top is updated. If you are on the waitlist and the change matters to you (for example a new provider), you get an email about it.
